Coming to tonight’s Biznik Seattle happy hour? A little preparation will help you get the most out of the event

Here’s a quick Biznik networking tip: The happy hour event at Liberty this evening has more than 60 RSVPs. It’s not going to be possible for you to meet every single one of those brilliant indie business people, so why not take a minute to browse through the RSVP list ahead of time, and create your own list of who you’d like to meet (tip to myself – create a tool that lets members do this online easily by selecting “favorites” that they can save, print out, whatever). We’re not all created equal, and it’s more than likely that a few people will stand out for one reason or another to you. If you’ve at least got an idea of who you’d like to meet ahead of time, it makes it that much more likely that you’ll actually get to meet them during the event.

Good one, Dan. That advice sounds like something out of a networking book I just finished, which is called “Never Eat Alone.” I highly recommend it.

Wow! I ran into so many wonderful people tonight and barely got to talk to any of them for very long! It was great, but now I’m hungry for some longer conversations with some great Biznikers! If any of you would like to come to Bremerton for dinner or coffee sometime, send me an email and we’ll plan on it! In the meantime, you can bet I’m going to be trying to attend more Biznik events!

    Kisses,
    Ms. Scarlett
