Biznik Success Stories

I’ve got this one T-shirt I love. It says “Achiever” right across the front in nice blocky white letters and looks particularly fetching if I put my fingers up in Nixon-like victory signs and smile nice and big.

Which is a really, really. tangential way to ask you a question:

What has Biznik meant to you and your business? How has this loving group of ours positively (or negatively. I guess that’s possible) impacted your business, your outlook on life, your sex life or just the way you walk down the street bobbing your head to that Biznik beat?

Pipe up, folks. We’ll make you internet famous.

Inspiration is the name of the Biznik game for me right now. I have yet to leave a Biznik function or a meeting with a fellow Biznik feeling even remotely disheartened or bored. And just for context, back in my regular paycheck days, I could carve ice sculptures with all the untapped creative energy that was bouncing through my veins. But now I typically feel way jazzed and encouraged about not just my business, but about the indie business world as a whole. My highs have gotten higher and my lows, well, that’s what all those great Happy Hours are for! So thanks, Bizniks, for all the good vibes, great community, and inspiring savvy and smarts. You make it well worth the ride.

Biznik has introduced me to what is possible. It’s given me advice, colleagues, confidence and friends. I started my business in July and joined Biznik soon thereafter, when I barely knew anything about self promotion. At each event I attended, people immediately saw my newbie status and flocked to support me and give me feedback. It really ramped up my learning curve; I’ve been telling friends for many weeks now about how awesome and inspiring my networking group is. They all think I’m crazy…until I start telling the stories of my experiences with you guys.

I also met my graphic designer and a couple new good friends through Biznik. If Biznik had been around when I moved back to Seattle and was trying to meet people, I would’ve joined it in an instant. People are so willing to get to know you, which, in Seattle, is incredibly welcoming.

    Biznik means:

Unrallying support for my entrepreneurial (sp?) goals, accountability partners, experts willing to give me advice, partners I can share projects with, and hopefully (eventually) clients.

Also, I ca’t overlook those awesome, stimulating networking events with beautiful intellectual people, who have welcomed me, a newbie, into this city with open arms. If it weren’t for Biznik, I might not love Seattle so much. Yup, it’s true!! Now where’d that Kleenex go????
