Got an idea for how to improve Biznik? Introducing the Biznik IdeaExchange

Biznik is first and foremost a community. And communities are built on communication - from us to you, you to other members, and you to us. From day one, we’ve worked hard to keep those channels wide open. But now that Biznik is pushing 20,000 members, the channel from you to us is getting a little noisy. So we’ve been thinking: wouldn’t it be cool if there was a way for you to share your ideas for improving Biznik, and the whole community could vote on which ones they liked best, so that we could all see at a glance which ones were the best? Now, there is.

Introducing, the Biznik IdeaExchange.

If you’ve ever used Digg, you’ll be right at home in the IdeaExchange. You submit your idea, and it appears on the Fresh Ideas page. Members can read through the ideas, and vote for the ones they like. If an idea gets enough votes, it’ll pop out onto the Popular Ideas page, where the best ideas will rise to the top, and get everyone’s attention. Including ours.

To get things started, we have a specific challenge that we need your help with. We’re creating a new Biznik promotional postcard, designed by Biznik member Corbet Curfman, which is almost ready for the printer. Only problem is, we can’t agree on a headline for the back side of the flyer. Perhaps you can help us?

Here’s what the front of the postcard looks like:

And here’s what it looks like on the back side:

We’d like to come up with some attention-getting, catchy text. Here’s the one idea I’ve come up with so far (which is awaiting your vote on the IdeaExchange).

“Take your business beyond the waterline.”

I KNOW you can come up with something better than that. We’ve got a Biznik t-shirt for the winner.

So, what’s YOUR idea?

(Please tag your idea with “frog postcard” so we can track all the ideas. And use your REAL NAME when you create your IdeaExchange account - we want to be able to give you full credit if your ideas is the winner.)

Update: One of my ideas is to send a t-shirt to anyone whose ideas is incorporated into Biznik. Here’s one proposed idea for what it might look like. But I bet you have a better idea…

Love the new T-shirt, and the phrase is great. Does it have the website URL on it?

I actually don’t care for the line and hope someone comes up with something better, but the card and the rest of it is great. Keep up the good work.

How about: “powered by our ideas”?

Since biznik is more about community rather than an individual?

    Just a thought…

    Hi Phil,
I love how collaborative your line is.

LOL, after seeing the big frogs and the single tiny tadpole, only one phrase rang out in my head: “Size does not matter!”

There is some truth to that though… Biznik may be smaller but Biznik is better. ;]

Good luck with finding the perfect phrase.
