6 things I’m thankful for
You. The 20,000 like-minded, forward-thinking business people who resonated with the tagline, “business networking that doesn’t suck,” and make up your community of resources, associates, customers, collaborators, clients and peers.
The contributors. The 1,000 people who see value in the enhanced profile features and the increased visibility Biznik offers, and have upgraded their membership level from free to $10 & $24 a month. Your contribution is making it possible to employ the contractors who’ve contributed to the framework, hire the staff to support Biznik’s growth, rent the office space to house the staff, and bring in Biznik’s next full time developer, who will build the features and improvements we’ve been promising. Your financial contribution is responsible for the evolution from a little group of Dan and my friends, into a sustainable and thriving business.
The evangelists. The “Biznikers” who have championed us and offered criticism; blogged about Biznik and invited others to join; hosted events, written articles, engaged in conversation, and been responsible for shaping the culture that Biznik is evolving into.
The collaborators. The contractors and businesses who have shared our vision for a real community that supports the growth of small independent businesses, and have stepped up and helped make it happen.
The developer. Biznik’s first full time developer, John Adair, who deferred payment for the first 8 months of his employment, while he single-handedly built the current version of the Biznik web site that was launched in July 2007.
And last but not least – my co-conspirator – my business partner and husband, Dan McComb, for taking this amazing entrepreneurial journey with me.
Happy Thanksgiving!
