Martin Lawrence Gallery wins sales award using Biznik
The staff at Martin Lawrence’s Bellevue Square gallery had a big challenge: sales were down. Really down. They needed to sell art. A lot of art. So art dealer Steve Setum and gallery director Chadwick Johnson sat down and came up with a strategy that included hosting Biznik networking events at their gallery in Bellevue Square.
The staff needed to sell or ship 500 works of art. The staff decided to sell. And sell they did. In the first weekend they moved nearly $150,000 worth of product. How did they do it?
Their strategy included reaching out to existing clients by phone, and launching a large email campaign. But here’s what it got interesting: Steve Setum also decided to host networking events at his gallery via Biznik. “This brought everyone together in a great environment, wonderful atmosphere, that was conducive to people networking, learning and even acquiring fine art,” said Steve.
As a result of these efforts, Martin Lawrence Gallery won this month’s Kemper Freeman Bellevue Square Merchant’s Award for sales growth. “We’ll probably be hosting another Biznik event,” Steve says.
Biznik member Rags Madison accepts the award: “Thanks Steve and Chad for letting me accept the Kemper Freeman Bellevue Square Merchant’s Award for year-over-year sales for February, 2009 on behalf of the Martin Lawrence Galleries. You both, as well as the entire staff, are too kind! It was a great day for Biznik this morning to be recognized as a part of your sales strategy in building traffic, energy and sales through the use of Biznik.”
