Bizniks - The economy is in your hands
No matter how much bailout money we pour into the old-world behemoths like GM and AIG, they will not cause the American economy to recover. Their time is gone, and the fact that they have become wards of the state proves they are orphans of a bygone era.
The future is small, local, fast, and personal. (Four attributes that never applied to the old-world companies, even in the best of times.)
Consider this:
- There are 25 million registered businesses in the United States.
- Twenty-one million of those businesses have fewer than 5 employees.
That is 21 million potential Bizniks. (Four out of five.)
If the majority of those businesses did only slightly better this year, their net effect on the economy would be far more profound than any bailed-out behemoth.
In tough economic times, people retract. They pull in. They spend less money overall, but they spend it locally with people they know and trust. They invest in improving themselves so they will have a head start when things “turn around”. This is where small businesses excel, and where Biznik can be one of the tools you use to grow, even in this economy.
So this is your call to arms, Bizniks. Get out there. Meet people. Network. Get a little more business here and there. Now is not the time to cocoon in your den in the glow of your laptop screen. There are 21 million of you out there, and the future of the US economy is depending on you doing a little better this year!
As always, we here at Biznik World Domination Headquarters are beavering away, trying to make these tools work better and better for you… so you can be more and more successful.
Let’s get to work.

I hear ya, Christian.
And may I recommend fellow Biznik Dominic Canterbury’s brainchild DibSpace (www.dibspace.com) for a great place to get started in offering working hours to get stuff from other local professionals.
