SHINE video clips are up!
As of 11:25 this morning, almost everyone who participated in SHINE can download their personal video clip from the front page of their profile. All but 27 of the clips are ready to go - the remainder we are still working on. We plan to post the remainder on Monday.
The link on your profile will direct your browser to download the video file in QuickTime format. This format is suitable for upload directly to any of the video services supported by Biznik, which include YouTube, Viddler, Vimeo and Facebook. You can further edit the video in any respectable video editing package should you like to make changes to your clip.
After you’ve viewed your clip, if you decide you want to take your video to the next level, remember that you can contact the person who operated the camera at your event. All are outstanding videographers who are available for hire. Here’s the list of videographers who volunteered at SHINE - I recommend all of them highly:
- Anthony Tackett - Absolute Tech.
- Basil Shadid - Being Media.
- Cary Ray - BrainStorm Video Production
- David Barbosa - 3rd Eye Films.
- Goldie Jones - Subversionz Media.
- Grace Stahre - Versant Media.
- Greg Sommers - Flying Gecko.
- Len Davis - Pangeality Productions.
- Staci Bernstein
- Steven Bradford - VidTeams.com.
- Travis Becker - Victory Studios.
- Valerie Vozza - Double V Productions.
Three other key players who were deeply involved in SHINE, by supplying video cameras from their production companies (Daniel and Jeremy also were interviewers at SHINE):
On the editing side, we have:
- Caution Zero Networks, with two talented team members: Stephen McCandless and Ben Laurance.
- Chris Julian - Christohpher Julian Designworks.
Shine’s production team featured these talented members:
- David Guilbault, documentary filmmaker
- John Patzer, Snacky! Brand Media
- Lorraine Montez, marketing, writing, film production

Call me D U M
But I simply cannot find a link on my profile page. Perhaps I’m one of the 27 waiting till monday, but if not I think bozos like me will need a bit more instruction on where/how to find it. Thanks Dan, and congrats on being finished with this amazingly huge project.

Hey Dan,
So great! Thanks for posting these! Unfortunately, when I click to save mine to my desktop, it comes through as “not a movie.” Sad. Somehow it’s only 8KB, which doesn’t seem big enough to be a movie…any hints? Sorry!
This is such an exciting process - you guys are total rockstars.

Hi Susan - that’s definitely a bug - we’re fixing it right now. Check again momentarily and it should be fixed. Thanks for head’s up.

Hi Leif,
I checked on your video, and it is in fact ready to roll, but was accidentally placed into the wrong directory. Unfortunately that means we have to make a trip to the colocation facility to fix since the drive we placed all the videos on is read-only. But that’s our problem, not yours! We’ll be correcting this issue on Monday - and I’ll be posting on FB, Twitter and Biznik when it’s corrected. Thanks for your patience.

I didn’t find a download link either so am presuming mine is not ready or bugged? I’m so excited! All of you worked so hard to put this together.
Thanks to each and every person involved.

Hi Lisa,
If I remember correctly, yours is among the batch we’ll be posting on Monday. Hang in there!

Hi Dan!
I just downloaded my video. It went smoothly and looks fantastic!! Thank you for this incredible opportunity and to all who volunteered their time. I can’t wait to see the final movie.
June 14th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
Dan, I have downloaded my clip and do not want it on my Biznik profile as is. Can I delete that “download now” function so potential clients do not download/view it??
June 14th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
The “download now” is only appearing for you, Nancy - no one else can see it. We’re leaving it up for everyone until July 31 in case you need to download it again for any reason, then it will disappear. But don’t worry - no clients will ever see it unless you show it to them

Groovy. Thx for the clarification, Dan.

Help! I can’t get the Shine video onto my profile page - I managed to get it up to my Facebook page, and from there I right click on it and get thr embed code, but when I copy that into the box provided on Biznik, there is an error. Can you walk me through how this should be done?
I was able to download it to my desktop, and view it just fine.
Thanks!
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
I just sent you my email address - send me the embed code and I’ll take a look.

Dan–
Do I happen to be one of the 27 waiting to be uploaded? If not, maybe it’s a bug?
Just checkin’. Thanks!

Hey Dan - Nothing on my profile indicating I have a video link for the Shine Video. Would you be so kind as to check and let me know where it is and/or how to get to it?
Thanks so much!!

Sorry to disappoint, but we have suffered technical problems requiring us to delay another day delivering the remaining clips. For those of you who don’t yet have your clip - hang in there, we should have them up Tuesday afternoon.
June 15th, 2009 at 11:19 pm
It is past midnight so it is Tuesday…I checked to see if I was one of the 27 last videos to get posted Monday but don’t see anything…am I missing where to look? I have been so excited to see the clip…I absolutely loved the Shine concept and the event…thanks for all the work that has been put into this!!
June 15th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
oh! So sorry - I just scrolled up and noticed the comment about technical difficulties…
June 16th, 2009 at 11:26 am
It’s Tuesday and I don’t see mine on my profile either and I assume they are all posted now. What am I missing?
June 16th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
We’re about to post a whole bunch of clips this evening. There will still be a few left that are not ready, however, so a handful of you will have to brace for more delay. I’m terribly sorry for all the delays - a few of the files we’ve had to re-output half a dozen times to get them right.
June 17th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
No worries. Just wanted to make sure I was looking in the right spot.
June 18th, 2009 at 7:31 am
Hi Dan…waiting patiently, and eager to see the results! I don’t want to be a cumbersome squeaky wheel, but could you confirm that mine is one of the files that needed/needs re-outputting? I’m enjoying seeing other folks’ videos on Facebook! Super-compelling, and a real success. Thanks for making this incredible thing happen!!
June 21st, 2009 at 7:43 pm
What Katie said. Can you also oconfirm that mine is still in the works?
Thanks!
June 21st, 2009 at 10:49 pm
Any luck finding the missing videos? - I just checked and nothing shows up for mine yet - unless I am looking in the wrong place….
Thanks…
